Literacy Council of Washington County
This organization is housed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hagerstown, Maryland. There are approximately 85 tutors working with Basic Reading and English as a Second Language (ESL) students. Tutors receive a two day training workshop prior to working with students. The next workshop is scheduled for May 13 and 20, 2006. The Literacy Council is always in need of additional tutors in both areas. Call Bill Price at 301-739-4208 for more information.

Church Library
Our church has a wonderful lending library which is located in the church office. It includes many good Christian based novels and historical non fiction as well as some self help books and children’s books and videos. It is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Trinity Concert Series
The purpose of the series is to provide concerts for the members of Trinity and the community at large. The series varies from organ recitals, college and university choir concerts to programs featuring both choir and orchestra. We have also sponsored such groups as Dakota Road, a contemporary Christian group and the Raleigh Ringers, a nationally known handbell choir, and Hagerstown Choral Arts. While many of the concerts are free to the public, contributions are always needed to help perpetuate the series. Persons interested in contributing toward the series or having questions are asked to contact Dr. Clair Johannsen at 301-733-2878.
